According to [Apple Insider](http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/07/01/apple_planning_host_of_iphone_updates_before_leopard_release_source.html), Apple will be releasing new iPhone features, including an IM client, “very, very soon” and also along with Leopard in October.
I hope so, that would really push new customers to the platform. Seeing a phone actually updated and new features added easily could easily sway even more people into the iPhone family.
