Unix rocks

I keep a album of photos at http://www.geeksrus.com/albums/ and I have been using Transmit to sync my local photo folder, which is generated by Simeon Leifer’s wonderful BetterHTMLExport. This hotel I stayed in has 802.11b. I had bought a Linksys card for my TiBook and it works, but only 2 bars, so NO WAY the airport would have worked. They told me it was not Mac compatible. Security Update got your network down?

I installed the latest OS X Security Update for 10.2.6, and Airport 3.1 and rebooted. Networking was dead. The System Pref panels were dead. After dorking around for awhile, Curt suggested I delete: /private/var/db/SystemConfiguration/preferences.xml I did, and also /private/var/db/SystemConfiguration/com/apple.airport.preferences.xml Rebooted. All of my networking prefs were gone (yay) so I reset them to DHCP and… Continue reading Security Update got your network down?
